Abstract

This research examines one of the most important issues in social jurisprudence, concerning every Muslim man and woman: shaking hands with an elderly, unrelated woman. It does so through a hadith-based and jurisprudential analysis, meticulously tracing the relevant hadiths back to their original sources and assessing their authenticity. The research also considers the opinions of scholars from the four major schools of Islamic jurisprudence. Furthermore, this research underscores the importance of hadith scholars' efforts in clarifying the status of hadiths and narrations related to jurisprudential matters and their role in determining legal rulings.
