Abstract

This study investigates the contributions of Imam Abū Dāwūd Sulaymān ibn Najāḥ in Qur’anic orthography (rasm) through his book Mukhtaṣar al-Tabyīn li-Hijāʾ al-Tanzīl. It aims to highlight his methodological choices, scholarly approach, and the value of his opinions within the Andalusian school of Qur’anic studies. By analyzing selected examples, the research demonstrates his precision, linguistic insight, and distinctive role in shaping the science of Qur’anic orthography
